BBSI UK University Placement Service

BBSI was one of the first UK institutions to develop university foundation courses and offer university placement services in the UK.  We have been providing these services since 1995.  The School has since developed and refined the process.  The services are available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and our aim is to enable international students to enter the best and most ideally-suited university to match their personal abilities, achievements and aspirations.

On commencement of their course at BBSI, each student is individually interviewed by our University Placement Counsellor so that we can make an early assessment of their academic background, current level of English and future academic requirements.  Following that interview, our Counsellor will monitor the student's progress, introduce them to appropriate universities, invite them to meet different university representatives, assist students with their university applications and guide them through the full university application process.  The final choice of university, however, will depend on each individual's final IELTS level achieved, as well as the grade attained on conclusion of their BBSI University Foundation or Pre-Masters study programme.

University Foundation Courses

University Foundation courses at BBSI are specifically designed to prepare international students for undergraduate entry to British universities, without the necessity for acquiring British A-Level qualifications. The aim is to ensure that all students receive specialised academic preparation for their future studies.  Students are prepared specifically for the degree subject of their choice.  Furthermore, provided students complete their course satisfactorily, they are guaranteed an offer of a place at university.  In certain cases, BBSI can also secure a university place for those students who have not achieved a high-school exit grade.  Each BBSI University Foundation Course includes:

            *  a sound grounding in both the specialised subject of choice and in Academic English
            *  ongoing IELTS Examination Preparation
            *  Academic Study Skills

Pre-Masters Courses

Pre-Masters courses at BBSI are specifically designed to prepare international students for postgraduate entry to British universities. Our courses are flexible and are designed for international graduates with either a first degree or equivalent, or a higher diploma and relevant work experience, who are seeking to undertake a postgraduate degree course at a British university.  All participants receive specialised academic preparation and a sound grounding in the postgraduate degree subject of their choice.  BBSI is successful in placing its postgraduates in many different universities.  Furthermore, provided students complete all aspects of their course satisfactorily, they are guaranteed an offer of a place at university.  Our Pre-Masters courses are of 12, 24, 36 or 48 weeks' duration.  The choice will depend upon a student´s English level on entry, their previous work experience and their current academic qualifications.   Students wishing to apply for an MBA, however, should also have a minimum of 3 years' business-related work experience.  Each Pre-Masters course includes:

            *  a sound grounding in both the specialised subject of choice and in Academic English
            *  ongoing IELTS Examination Preparation
            *  Advanced Study Skills
