BBSI Terms & Conditions of Enrolment

Visas & Police Registration
BBSI is a licensed sponsor of Tier 4 students under the UK Border Agency (UKBA) Tier 4 Points Based System. Our UKBA Sponsor Licence Number is H0KMT5TH3.  BBSI is listed on the UKBA Register of Sponsors here.  The BBSI Student Services Team provides every assistance with visa extensions and police registration.

Enrolment

To enrol on a course at BBSI, students should forward a completed enrolment form, and a copy of their Passport, together with a non-refundable deposit of £500.00, or alternatively forward their full fees to BBSI in advance.  Students applying for a General Student Visa must also supply proof of their English language level by means of a UKBA-approved English language test.  In the case of visa refusal and at the discretion of the BBSI directors, on production of an original visa refusal document and provided full UK Border Agency criteria for visa application have been met, a refund of the deposit less the £90.00 enrolment fee and any other additional expenses, eg the £10.00 CAS fee, credit card charges, DHL delivery fees etc, may be granted.  Completed enrolment forms may be forwarded to BBSI by fax, e-mail or post.  BBSI will subsequently confirm the booking and invoice for the total fees due.

There will be no refund in the event of late arrival for a course, early departure, change of course or dismissal.  Enrolments are accepted on the understanding that students will study for the duration of stay declared at the time of enrolment.  The onus is on clients to ensure that they receive full information on the course they require prior to enrolment.  BBSI reserves the right to make changes to the course fees, course dates or course content at any time.

Entry Dates
The BBSI programmes will commence on a Monday, expect in the event of UK Public Holidays, when courses will commence on the following day.  The following days in 2012 are UK Public Holidays:

2 Jan, 6 & 9 Apr, 7 May, 4 & 5 Jun, 27 Aug, 25 & 26 Dec

General English courses are run year-round with the exception of a 2-week Christmas break.

Minimum Age
BBSI accepts students aged 17 and above for all its programmes, with the exception of our General English courses, for which the minimum age is 16 years.

Language Level
Should clients wish to confirm their English language levels are sufficient for a particular course, they may undertake the BBSI on-Line English test at http://www.bbsi.co.uk/study-english-england_uk-language-colleges_english-britain_english-in-britain_study-english-in-britain/.  Should a client’s language level prove too low for the course selected, BBSI will recommend an alternative course, and advise as to how much additional study time will be needed to achieve specified training objectives.

Course Book Fees
The course book fee is applicable to only the Specialised, University Foundation and Pre-Masters' courses, otherwise the book fee is inclusive.

Examinations
Examination fees for those seeking to undertake external examinations are not included in the BBSI course fees. The fees for external examinations will be notified on request.

All classes have a maximum of 12 participants; however, during peak periods, BBSI reserves the right to increase class sizes to a maximum of 15.

Extending a Course
A course can be extended at BBSI at any time during study, subject to availability. However, fees must be paid prior to commencement of the extended programme.

Course Withdrawal
Should a student leave or be dismissed from BBSI prior to course completion date, no refund will be payable.  Clients are therefore strongly advised to obtain travel and health insurance.  Should a student decide during his or her course to take a holiday and be absent from the course, he or she will forfeit the period of holiday taken, with no right to refund or compensation.  In the event of expiry of a visa, failure to secure a new visa, or in the event of the withdrawal of the BBSI sponsorship licence, a student will not be allowed to continue their studies, and will have no right to refund or compensation.  Subject to any of the above circumstances, a student's final certification may be in question.

Accommodation
Requests to change or leave previously allocated accommodation must be made in advance.  Notice periods for vacating accommodation are one week for homestay, or The Outlook Residence and 2 weeks for other residential accommodation (or payment in lieu).  A fee of £25.00 will be charged to students requesting to change their accommodation.  Where accommodation is required for a part-week only, that week’s fee is payable in full.  During holiday periods, between terms, or when the School is closed, students must make their own arrangements with their respective hosts.  Should a student be absent during a School break, a retainer of £40.00 weekly would be payable for standard homestay, or £50.00 weekly for an executive homestay.

Discipline
The School reserves the right to dismiss a student for unsatisfactory work, poor attendance, or misconduct. In such circumstances, fees will not be refunded.

Liability & Insurance
BBSI and its representatives will not be liable for any loss, damage, illness, or injury to persons or property, however caused, except where such liability is imposed by law.  It is each client´s responsibility to take out personal insurance cover against all such risks, including the inability to attend or continue a course due to illness or accidental injury.  Cover should be arranged for the following:
  • *  medical expenses
  • *  personal accident
  • *  cancellation/curtailment
  • *  personal effects and money
  • *  loss of 'Leave to Remain' (visa)
  • *  personal liability
Data Protection Statement
Students' personal information will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.  BBSI will not disclose personal information to any unauthorised person or body, except where appropriate, in respect of student sponsors, the police, the UKBA, or other official authorities.  BBSI may, however, use personal data in connection with the prevention or detection of fraud or other crimes.

Photographs, Video and DVD
BBSI sometimes takes photographs and video footage within the School, some of which might be incorporated in our future publicity material, or be forwarded to student sponsors, the police, the UKBA, or other official authorities, on request.  Should you not wish to appear in any BBSI promotional media, please advise us in writing prior to the commencement of your course.

Force Majeure

Neither BBSI, nor its representatives, are liable in the event of the School being unable to supply services to which it is contractually bound, ie in the event of labour disputes, or other causes outside the School´s control, including changes in UK legislation.
