On arrival at BBSI, each student is assigned a personal tutor to help and guide them through the university application process. The aim is to ensure that all foundation and pre-masters students are assured of the best possible university place prior to completion of their BBSI study programme. The final choice of university will depend on your academic and study record, your IELTS examination score and your final grade on your University Foundation, Pre-masters course.

University Foundation Courses University Foundation courses at BBSI are specifically designed to prepare international students for undergraduate entry to British universities, without the necessity for acquiring British A-Level qualifications. The aim is to ensure that all students receive specialised academic preparation for study at a UK university and we prepare students specifically for the degree subject of their choice, and BBSI has a sound record in achieving excellent results in placing its graduates. Furthermore, provided students complete all aspects of their University Foundation course satisfactorily, they are guaranteed a place at university. Our University Foundation courses are of 24 (Higher-Certificate) or 36 weeks (Diploma) duration, depending upon your English-language level on entry, your previous academic experience and your current academic qualifications. Each provides a sound grounding in the specialist subject and academic English; includes ongoing IELTS examination preparation; and because undergraduate students require sound academic study skills in preparation for their university degree course, teaches Academic Study Skills. This skills element includes effective writing ability; listening comprehension and note-taking; ability to transfer information in note form to essay format; understanding the conventions of bibliographies, footnotes and quotations; classroom, self-study & personal organisational skills; effective reading-comprehension; effective time-management; and research techniques .
Pre-Masters CoursesPre-Masters courses at BBSI are specifically designed to prepare international students for postgraduate entry to British universities. Our courses are extremely flexible and are carefully designed for international graduates with either a first degree or equivalent, or a higher diploma and relevant work experience, who are seeking to enhance their career prospects by undertaking a postgraduate degree course at a British university. The aim is to ensure that all students receive specialised academic preparation for study at university and we prepare students specifically for the degree subject of their choice at university. The School achieves excellent results in placing its postgraduates. Furthermore, provided students complete all aspects of their course satisfactorily, they are guaranteed a place at university. The courses are of 12, 24 or 36 weeks duration, depending upon a student's English-language level on entry, their previous academic experience and work experience, and their current academic qualifications. Each provides a sound grounding in the specialist subject and academic English; includes ongoing IELTS examination preparation; and because postgraduate students require advanced academic study skills in preparation for their postgraduate degree course, teaches Advanced Study Skills. This skills element includes plagiarism, research skills, Internet-based study, bibliography and referencing, an extended writing assignment, critical thinking and independent thought, compilation and statistical analysis, independent learning, presentations, and seminar skills.
UK University Placement
BBSI makes all arrangements for candidates to take the IELTS examination and we provide a personalised and comprehensive placement service to assist and guide students through the respective university application processes. Visits to universities are also arranged, and university representatives are invited to BBSI on a frequent basis.
