Summer Course in Management & Business Skills


BBSI, a highly accredited Business College and English Language School in the UK, offers a short, summer certificate course in Management & Business Skills with English, which is conducted at our Summer School in Bournemouth, UK. 
 
The BBSI summer course in Management & Business Skills is a study programme of 30 lessons (22.5 hours) weekly.  The course is designed for those with a minimum English language level equivalent to IELTS [Academic] 5.5/CEFR B2, who wish to improve their specialised English and business skills.  Training focuses on developing students' understanding of management and supervisory concepts, vocabulary and skills, as well as professional communication skills.  The course combines current management and business issues with targeted case studies.  This course also includes 10 lessons per week in professional skills practice, aimed at developing more effective communication skills for the business environment.  The teaching materials for the skills elements are largely authentic and are based on real-life case studies, designed to build confidence through activities such as discussions, role-plays and simulations.  Participants with good attendance who complete all class work and assignments will be able to communicate effectively in English in a professional business environment, and will acquire a sound knowledge and understanding of management supervision and administration in an international context.

Professional Qualifications.  BBSI is an Approved Training Centre for the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) .  Our summer course in Management & Business Skills includes modules for the CMI Level 3 qualifications in First-Line Management

Course Outline
 
      Course Duration.  2-12 weeks.
Minimum English-Language Entry Level.  IELTS 5.5/CEFR B2.
 
Course Code.  MBS.
Minimum Age.  17 years.

Course Entry Dates.  Entry to this flexible course is weekly from July to September. The first entry date for 2012 is 2 July and the last entry date is 10 September.

Award.  Academic achievement is ascertained by means of continuous assessment.
 
      BBSI Certificate in Management & Business Skills.
 

Course Structure and Content A minimum of 2 weeks' study is required, comprising 30, forty-five minute lessons (22.5 hours weekly).  Course breakdown is as follows:

BBSI courses are carefully designed and structured at different language levels to enable international students to develop all 4 English language skills simultaneously, while developing their professional communication skills and professional knowledge in academic, vocational or professional context, in the specialised subject of their choice.  Students therefore have the flexibility to focus on either academic or vocational progression, depending on their personal training needs and particular learning objectives.
