The BBSI summer course International Law & Business Skills with English is conducted at our Summer School in Bournemouth, Britain and is available in 2 study options: a study programme of 20 lessons weekly (LBS 20) and a study programme of 30 lessons weekly (LBS 30). Both study options are designed for those with an English language level of Intermediate or above, who require to study a combination of international law, legal studies and business English language skills. This course is conducted around a busy and varied school social and activity programme.
Both the LBS 20 and LBS 30 are modular in format. These courses are ideal in both structure and content, for those who require English language in an international legal environment, and who have a work or study-related background in law or legal studies. The course can be joined on any Monday during the period June-September annually. The maximum class size is 15. Students take an English test on arrival at BBSI and are then counselled in respect of their study programme prior to being placed in international classes at an English language level to suit their needs. On successful completion, students gain a recognised legal English qualification.
LBS 20 Study Option
The LBS 20 study option focuses on the development of current legal issues related to international law, and is designed to enable participants to develop appropriate legal English vocabulary and professional skills. The course combines study in current legal issues with targeted case studies.

Course Objectives: The course objectives are to:
- develop a basic understanding of current theory and practice in legal matters and international law

- develop effective business English communication skills
- build appropriate vocabulary related to legal matters and international law
- develop confidence and fluency in the English language beyond Intermediate Level
- provide participants with the opportunity to acquire an accredited legal English qualification
On completion of the course, participants will have enhanced their basic knowledge of business and international law, and will have developed their ability to use English language effectively in a professional, legal and social context. In addition, students will have developed an extensive range of professional communication skills.

The LBS 30 study option includes all of the above study elements, but includes an additional 10-lesson weekly business-skills component, designed to enable participants to further develop professional English language communication skills for the business and professional environment. The teaching materials utilised are varied, are mainly authentic, and include audio and video facilities. This component of the study programme is specifically designed to build confidence through active participation in such activities as discussions, simulations and role-play.
