Summer Course in Finance


The BBSI summer course Finance is an intensive summer course conducted at our Summer School in Bournemouth, England. 

Our summer course in Finance comprises a study programme of 20 lessons (15 hours) weekly.   The course is designed for those with an English language level of Intermediate (IELTS 5.0) or above, who require to improve their English in the context of finance and financial services and their related fields. 
 
Training focuses on the development of basic skills and knowledge related to finance, and is designed to enable students to develop appropriate business vocabulary and communication skills.  The course combines current finance issues and incoudes targeted case studies.
 
The course incudes preparation and practice for the University of Cambridge ESOL International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE) . BBSI is an accredited ICFE Examination Centre. 

Course Outline
Course Duration.  2-12 weeks
Minimum English Entry Level.  IELTS 5.0
Course Code.  FIN

Entry Dates.  Entry to this flexible course is weekly from July to September 2010. 
The first entry date for 2010 is 05 July and the last entry date is 13 September.
The course dates for 2011 are 27 June - 16 September 2011.

Lessons Weekly.  20 (each of 45 minutes´ duration)
Minimum Age.  17 years

Award.  BBSI Certificate in Finance

Optional Examination. 
 
      University of Cambridge ICFE (examination dates)

Course Structure & Content.   Training focuses on the development of finance and business skills, and is designed to enable students to develop appropriate finance and business vocabulary, as well as professional skills and professional communication skills.  The course combines current finance and business issues wth targeted case studies.

      *  interpreting company accounts
      *  competition issues
      *  nature & role of banks 
 
      *  Preparation for the International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE) 
      *  understanding financial reports & related correspondence
      *  presenting financial arguments or expressing opinions
      *  questioning & requesting financial clarification
      *  writing factual reports & fact-based correspondence

      FIN - £225.00 weekly
 
† Examination fess for external examinations are not included in the BBSI course fees.
BBSI courses are carefully designed and structured at different language levels to enable international students to develop all 4 English language skills simultaneously, while developing their professional communication skills and professional knowledge in academic, vocational or professional context, in the specialised subject of their choice. Students therefore have the flexibility to focus on either academic or vocational progression, depending on their personal training needs and particular learning objectives.
