The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) exists to promote and develop high standards of professional skill, ability and integrity among all those engaged in purchasing and supply-chain management. CIPS, the leading body representing the field of purchasing and supply chain management, was established in 1932. The Institute has grown to become the central reference for industry best practice, and its code of conduct is the standard around the World. In 1992 the Institute was awarded a Royal Charter in recognition of its status as a centre of excellence and support for the profession. The purpose and aims of the CIPS suite of qualifications are to:

BBSI is a CIPS Approved Training Centre and offers the CIPS Certificate in Purchasing & Supply (Level 3). The CIPS Level 3 Certificate modules are:

Integrative Unit

Purchasing in action

The overall assessment method for the CIPS Level 3 qualification is by written examination. Trainees are required to undertake examinations for the compulsory units and select either a Case Study or an Assignment for the 'Purchasing in Action' integrative unit. Assessment is both external and independent, and examinations can be booked on-demand. There are no fixed examination dates, which makes assessment more flexible. The overall grading system for the qualification is Pass, Merit, or Distinction.

Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport

The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT UK) is the leading professional association in Britain for managers and academics involved in the fields of transport and distribution. The Institute seeks to maintain and improve standards within the industry via its own system of educational courses and professional qualifications. BBSI is an Approved Training Centre and Academic Partner and offers training courses accredited by the CILT (UK), so that international students can gain the CILT (UK) Certificate in Logistics & Transport (Level 3) qualification.

The CILT (UK) Certificate in Logistics & Transport (Level 3) is designed to provide a sound foundation for a career within the transport and supply-chain field and is a qualification designed to equip potential supervisors and first-line managers with a complete set of management skills. To obtain the Certificate trainees need to study one core unit and one elective unit from the 9 optional units available. The course can be taken in 36-week, 24-week or 12-week study periods. The 36-week and 24-week study options offer full CILT (UK) Certificate accreditation; however, the 12-week study option offers Partial Accreditation.
