Tailored Training Courses at BBSI

Aviation English. BBSI employs fully-approved CAA trainers, examiners and testers to offer flexible training courses and testing in Aviation English. General-language development is conducted in small international classes at appropriate language levels, whilst specialised Aviation English training is conducted in closed-focus groups targeting particular aviation specialisations. Our aim is to train to a proficiency standard whereby trainees aquire sufficient language proficiency to manage all their potential communicative needs with confidence. Our Aviation English courses covers not only routine phraseologies, but also those types of communication not encompassed by phraseologies, as well as on non-routine situations and outright emergencies.

Military English. Designed to prepare potential NATO staff officers for their roles in the NATO Alliance and for possible UN peacekeeping appointments, BBSI Military English training is both stimulating and wide-ranging in its delivery and content. We conduct short-course Certificate programmes up to NATO STANAG 6001 SLP 4 level and this training is concerned with creating an understanding of the functional communication skills necessary for military officers, civil servants, diplomats, internal security operatives and others, to be effective on the international stage. Assessment and certification is conducted by the Ministry of Defence Language Examining Board and provides a formal measure of the operational and administrative communication skills level of the holder.

Management Training. BBSI has offered management training since inception of the Institute in 1992. Our College is an Approved Training Centre for the Chartered Management Institute, London, (CMI) and offers a wide variety of management training, including the CMI Certificate in Management (Level 3) professional qualification. The CMI elements of our study programmes are internally and externally verified to the rigorous standards of the Chartered Institute and are assessed by means of coursework standards, attendance and modular assignments.

Purchasing, Supply & Logistics. Purchasing, Supply and Logistics are areas of management that are rapidly growing in importance. BBSI therefore offers training courses accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), one of the leading professional associations in Britain for managers and academics involved in supply-chain coordination and distribution. BBSI is an Academic Partner of this Chartered Institute and is also an Approved Training Centre. Accordingly, the College offers a professional Level 3 qualification, the Certificate in Purchasing & Supply accredited by CIPS.
