University Foundation Extended Diploma in Hospitality Management & Tourism

Designed for students with an English language level equivalent to IELTS 4.5/CEFR B1, this full-year 48-week study option enables participants to develop Academic Study Skills  and undertake additional IELTS Examination Preparation, prior to moving on to business communication skills, and more specialised hospitality and tourism studies in latter stages of the course.  This course leads to a BBSI University Foundation Diploma in Hospitality Management & Tourism, an NCFE Certificate in Communication and Business Skills and an NCFE Certificate in Hospitality Management & Tourism.  Students will also have the opportunity to sit the IELTS Academic Examination as often as is required. 

UK University Placement. Students are provided with extensive counselling and guidance in all aspects of study at UK universities, and are given full assistance with the UK university application process. All Foundation students who successfully complete their course are assured of a university place prior to graduation from BBSI.

Extended Diploma Course

Course Structure & Content.  Students study for 4 academic terms (48 weeks), and for 30 lessons (22.5 hours) weekly

 

    Term 1 

           30 weekly lessons in Academic Study Skills & IELTS Examination 
                 Preparation, comprising:
                       10 lessons weekly in grammar & functions
                         2 lessons weekly in vocabulary development
                         4 lessons weekly in reading & writing skills
                         4 lessons weekly in speaking, listening & pronunciation skills
                       10 lessons weekly in Academic Study Skills & IELTS 
                             Examination Preparation

            Term 2

     20 lessons weekly in Communication & Business Skills 
     10 lessons weekly in Academic Study Skills & IELTS Examination 
           Preparation

            Terms 3 & 4

     20 lessons weekly in Hospitality Management & Tourism

     10 lessons weekly in Academic Study Skills & IELTS Examination 
           Preparation
