University Foundation Extended Higher-Certificate Course in Finance & Financial Services

Designed for students with an English language level equivalent to IELTS 4.5/CEFR B1, this 36-week study option enables participants to develop Academic Study Skills  and undertake additional IELTS Examination Preparation, prior to moving on to business communication skills in the second term, and more specialised finance and business studies in the third and final term.  This course leads to a BBSI University Foundation Higher-Certificate in Finance & Financial Services, and an NCFE Certificate in Communication and Business Skills.  Students will also have the opportunity to sit the IELTS Academic Examination as often as required and the University of Cambridge ESOL International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE)  on the dates specified on the Examinations page. 

UK University Placement. Students are provided with extensive counselling and guidance in all aspects of study at UK universities, and are given full assistance with the UK university application process. All Foundation students who successfully complete their course are assured of a university place prior to graduation from BBSI.

Extended Higher-Certificate Course

Minimum English Entry Level.  IELTS 4.5/CEFR B1

Minimum Age. 17 years

Course Structure & Content.  Students study for 3 academic terms (36 weeks), and for 30 lessons (22.5 hours) weekly

 

         Term 1 

               30 weekly lessons in Academic Study Skills & IELTS Examination 
                     Preparation, comprising:
                           10 lessons weekly in grammar & functions
                             2 lessons weekly in vocabulary development
                             4 lessons weekly in reading & writing skills
                             4 lessons weekly in speaking, listening & pronunciation skills
                          10 lessons weekly in Academic Study Skills & IELTS 
                                Examination Preparation

          Term 2

         20 lessons weekly in Communication & Business Skills 
         10 lessons weekly in Academic Study Skills & IELTS Examination 
                 Preparation

          Term 3

         20 lessons weekly in Finance & Financial Services

         10 lessons weekly in Academic Study Skills & IELTS Examination
